Some 170 Km's from Mumbai,Kashid on a non crowded day or ummm...maybe in a non crowded corner on a jam packed outbound weekend...can be a pleasure! The waves are huge...the water's clear...and the sand is clean!
Stay options are few and scarce...and would suggest that you book in advance before going. We stayed at Matoshree Lodge(600 INR for a night-very basic non a/c rooms) and we kind of got it luckily. The person in the photo needs a mention too.Sharma Saab is a true hindustani, with a pure dialect and a subtle sense of humour that has you in splits. Not to mention, that he is a hotshot marketing guy at BBC also!
Kashid is a place to chill out!Don't do anything...just lie down on the hammocks at the beaches...have a swim in the high tide...drink to your fill in the evening...play your guitar on the beach at midnight...what more can I say:-)...maybe this will help:
I was in the sea, when this wave approached me.It was 3 times my size,it was intimidating...yet,it was so beautiful. This wave made me go underwater and choke for breath...but why fear when the danger in front of you makes you awestruck:-).
I loved writing this post...hope you have a nice time reading it too!
