  • Deserted Boat on Chiwla Beach near Malwan Town in Maharashtra
  • Dream House at Kasauli.
  • You can also spot elephants and deer as they come to the banks to drink water and catch a fabulous sunset at the end of it all.
  • This tree at Matrimandir described the place perfectly for me. Beautifully bare.
  • Walk around finding flowers and trees we don't usually get to see in the city.
  • We stayed in a newly built quiet resort near Kuruva Island in Wayanad and spent our days going for walks (guided) in the forest across the stream, lazing on the verandah with a cup of coffee.
  • Located a few kilometres from Pondicherry, the Dune is a unique if somewhat expensive resort. No two rooms/cottages here are the same and several have been designed by visiting artists.
  • The Hoysalas were prolific temple buildiers. Club a visit to Halebid with a visit to the Chennakeshava temple at Belur and if you are inclined to take it all in from the top, the giant monolith of Bahubali at Sravanbelagola
  • At Utorda beach
  • Walk down to the Mango Tree restaurant for some wholesome fare
  • Walking around Hampi can be quite an exhausting task if you wish to take it all in, so take a break in the shade like perhaps the owner of this cycle has done
  • Today's Hampi is an interesting mix of ancient and the new age tourist cool with Israelis and European tourists flocking these ancient ruins
  • Walk down to the Hampi Bazaar near the Virupaksha Temple where old pavillions now just have the pillars standing and are lined with shops selling T-shirts, trinkets, crafts and the odd musical instrument
  • You also get to do a bit of dolphin spotting if luck favours as it did for us with this one.
  • Devbagh Island in Karwar makes for an excellent halt enroute to Goa from Bangalore.
  • Coffee and Pepper growing in abundance at Coorg!
  • Rain and Coorg go hand in hand. Just like the word green and Coorg do.
  • One of the treats the Kabini River Lodge has in store for you is a boatride late in the afternoon on the river.
  • Walking around Pondicherry is really the best way to see it.

  • This is from one of the bends of the Gatha Loops overlooking the beautiful zanskar river on the Manali-Leh highway....It consists of 21 consecutive bends, definitely not for people who suffer from motion sickness - By Dhiraj Debbarma
