Who We Are
What started in 2008 as a way to pass time constructively, has resulted into numerous posts that cover our observations on the Terrains, Cultures, Food and colorful people that we have encountered over the years. Today Terrainspotter is a full fledged vertical and we have come a long way from being a blog!
Written as seen! We are India’s premier real time travelogue portal with no copied content and no fake comments! We tell stories about places that have been visited and roamed about! Each travelogue in our portal has been written by a bunch of Travel Enthusiasts(Called ‘Fellow Terrainspotters’) for the benefit of travel info hungry netizens across the world!
Terrainspotter is not a "Travel Portal", and neither is it a "Booking Engine". All we want to tell you, is our travel experiences, and will hope that it helps you in finding out a wholly new dimension about a destination, when you reach there.
In short, we are 'A Writers Travelogue & A Travellers Writealogue'. So sit back, enjoy and join this wanderlust with your trusted guide – because every journey needs one!

The ever growing Terrainspotter Team
At Terrainspotter, we believe that every terrain has a story behind it and an inherent beauty about it, be it the bylanes of Kolkata or the majestic glaciers of Pindari. Our constant effort in every post is to tell you about the place, how to get there, what to do. While doing the obvious we also try to pen down some offbeat experiences that you may try to make your terrainspotting worthwhile.
We have been really lucky to have some real traveloholics writing for us…

Ramesh Gowri Raghavan
Raamesh Gowri Raghavan is a daily traveller. Every day he travels 40 km from home to office in Mumbai, first in a bus and then train, and makes the return journey home. But sometimes his wanderlust takes him away from his copywriting job on trips to unknown corners of India. His travel philosophy is to go to places where others have barely gone before. With Francis Younghusband for a hero, he prefers visiting the Himalaya. He was an avid trekker, till the combined effect of one too many vada-paos caught up with him. When not travelling, he likes writing about food and travel. And don't ask him about poetry. He can be reached at iambecomedeath@gmail.com.

Shanya Rehman Alam
Shanya Rehman Alam has been writing for as long as she can remember. A Journalism graduate from the Delhi University, Shanya has worked with names likes The Indian Express (Delhi), The Times of India and DNA (Mumbai). The passion of writing only found fuel when she discovered her love for travel. Born of her regular road trips with her father, her love for visiting new places and experiencing new lifestyles grew well into her adult years. An ardent reader, the one thing always jutting out of her travel bag is a book. She enjoys reading on overnight train journeys the most however, that happens less often than she would prefer. Her equally travel-happy husband has ensured that her road trips have only increased in the last few years and she has more trips and tips to share every month owing to her impromptu weekend trips. You can direct your queries or simply get in touch with her at shanyaalam@gmail.com.

Nidhi Chawla Manoj
Nidhi’s interest in travel was ignited during her 7 year stint at McKinsey & Co. Equally enthusiastic hubby and daughter added fuel to this fire. She loves ticking off places that she has visited, both global and domestic, on the map and in travel books. Now taking a break from work and being a full time mother, she is the one responsible for finding long weekends well in advance so that the family can do what they enjoy doing the most, TRAVEL. Her favourite part of all this travel is carrying back the specialities of the places visited; be it ‘Aam Papad’ from Amritsar or a Venetian mask from Venice or a piece of lace work from Brugge, Belgium. Nidhi can be reached at nidhi76.chawla@gmail.com

Samar Raeesuzzaman
Samar is a market researcher, and has been working for ten years, earlier in sales and distribution, before finally finding his call in research. He’s an avid follower of old Hindi film music (mostly 50s and 60s), and strongly believes there exists a treasure trove of film music waiting to be explored by the current generation, even beyond Kishore Kumar and RD Burman. A sporadic traveller, he’s nonetheless enthusiastic about travelling, even on a short weekend trip, and rues the fact that one has to juggle between destinations, and that a lifetime is too short to explore the wonder that is India, let alone the world. Kanika Singh
Kanika started Delhi Heritage Walks with a friend Rajesh Ranjan while studying at JNU as they both shared a love for history and exploring the city. Kanika loves ruins, in fact, the more ruinous the better…so leading walks is always great fun. Tuhgluqabad is one of her most favourite places in Delhi. When not leading a heritage walk, Kanika often spend her time rambling around these medieval sites or simply proping herself against an old wall, with a book in hand and garam garam chai! Well all team Terrainspotter can say is that the perfect thing to do is to ‘Love Thy Job’ and Kanika’s doing it full steam. It’s a great priviledge having her in the Special Contributors section! You can contact Kanika at info@delhiheritagewalks.com
